Course Content

This course is designed for therapists and trainers who want to become experts in the field of the foot as well. You will gain all relevant knowledge about the evolutionary development of the foot and the resulting three-dimensional biomechanics. Building on this knowledge, the full potential of the BlackBoard will be conveyed to you. In the practical part, progressively structured training and indication-specific therapy steps are explained in detail, so that by the end you will have both the theoretical and practical tools to help your clients and patients in the best possible way.

Theoretical Part

- Functional 3D anatomy and biomechanics of the foot / ankle - Introduction to the MAP system (Mobilization – Activation – Performance) - Theoretical review of typical foot deformities such as clubfoot, flatfoot, splayfoot, and high-arch foot (as interconnected and progressive deformities)

Practical Part

- Introduction to the structure of the BlackBoard and learning the basic exercises based on methodological exercise sequences that continuously increase in complexity. - Practical application of the BlackBoard. The exercises focus on the sensory system, mobilization of the foot and ankle, as well as muscle activation. - The goal of the course is to acquire sufficient theoretical knowledge to create individual and necessary exercises, and to individualize and adapt the training program for athletes and patients. - Discussion of two case studies
